Communities for Youth is excited to announce the addition of Melissa McClure to our team!

C4Y's New Communications Specialist, Melissa McClure.

Through her work as a Communications Specialist, Melissa McClure plays a key role in supporting the mission of Communities for Youth. Fueled by a passion for creativity and armed with a degree in Communications (Public Relations) (BA), she has designs engaging print and digital materials that support the ongoing work of Communities for Youth throughout the State of Idaho.

She joined Boise State University in 2019, and her role has evolved over time to include the Assistant Director of the Idaho Conference on Alcohol and Drug Dependency. Melissa is currently attending Boise State University as a second-degree seeking student working toward a Master of Fine Arts (Graphic Design).

What is your role at Communities for Youth and what kinds of things will you be responsible for?

I am a Communications Specialist at C4Y. I am tasked with designing digital and print media that support the ongoing work of our leadership team.

What drew you to working with C4Y?

I was drawn to C4Y because I wanted to join a team of talented and passionate individuals working toward improving the well-being of Idaho's youth through a unique upstream prevention model. On a personal level, I am the parent of a teenager, and I have teenage nieces, and I have seen first-hand some of the challenges that our youth face in today's day and age.

What are you most excited about working on at C4Y?

I am most excited to be a part of an organization that is performing crucial research regarding youth well-being today and gaining momentum in Idaho communities right before my eyes.

What's some things you like to do for fun outside of work?

When I am not on campus, I love to spend time with my family and friends! I also spend a lot of time cycling both indoors and outdoors. I have ridden the Hiawatha Trail in Northern Idaho (starts in Montana and ends in Idaho) five times and I am currently eleven rides away from reaching a goal of 500 indoor rides at a cycle studio in the Treasure Valley.
