Now that students at Marsing Middle and High Schools have completed the Student Well-being Survey, the SW Idaho Communities for Youth Initiative will be hosting a community "data walk" on Thursday, November 14 from 6-7:30PM in the Marsing School Cafeteria. Dinner and ice cream will be provided! Data walk community meetings provide community members including parents, grandparents, concerned citizens, and local leaders with opportunities to better understand and process the survey results. An RSVP link for the community meeting is available here. RSVPs are not required but are appreciated.
What's a Data Walk Community Meeting?
Data walks community meetings are events where community members are invited to come and learn about the results of the survey. Each meeting starts with a general overview of the Communities for Youth data-driven community engagement process. Attendees are then separated into small groups which rotate around 7-8 data posters that the Communities for Youth team prepares using local youth survey results. At each poster, group members build their understanding of what the data is saying and then have brief, facilitated conversations about what it means. At the end of the meeting, we prioritize what areas of well-being we would like to focus on for the next year. This fun, interactive community-driven event takes about 90 minutes.
Who Should Attend?
Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, youth service professionals, elected and business leaders, community organizations, neighborhood groups, and others are all encouraged to attend. Supervision and kids activities (for grades K-5) will be provided in the Marsing Elementary School Building during the meeting.
Share a flyer for the meeting with any community members who might be interested in attending! See below for the flyer in English and Spanish.
