Communities for Youth Promotes Upstream Prevention Approaches at St. Luke's FitOne

Communities for Youth (C4Y) recently attended St. Luke’s FitOne race event where we shared information and materials about C4Y's state-wide efforts as well as work happening via the Boise Regional Initiative and upcoming work throughout the greater Treasure Valley.

Let’s Connect!

One of the specific areas we chatted with numerous parents and other concerned community members about was the importance of social connection (defined as supportive and meaningful relationships with peers, family members, and trusted non-parent adults) for youth mental health. Teens can build and maintain these relationships in a variety of ways, but so often adults don't fully recognize how impactful they can be in this area or don't know how to get started.

To that end, Communities for Youth has created resources to help adults build youth social connection though the Let's Connect for Youth Mental Health campaign

Let's Connect features many resources for adults including tips and tricks for how to start building connection, community resources summaries, and a community messaging brief for those looking to build awareness of the importance of social connection or help others build teen social connection. Community members interested in getting more involved in sharing Let's Connect messages and contributing to campaign goals are encouraged to learn more about the C4Y Boise Initiative and sign up for the Boise newsletter on the main Boise Initiative page.
