Our first collaborative Teen Takeover event with JUMP Boise took place last Friday, April 19th and we are so pleased with how it turned out. Over 350 youth came to enjoy teen bands, a Hawaiian-themed meal, games, and other activities.
Teen Takeover provides a vital teen-centric space in the Treasure Valley as it provides youth attendees with opportunities to explore new interests and hobbies, and connect with peers. Such opportunities are an important piece of helping youth thrive, particularly as loneliness and social isolation can be a driver for youth mental health challenges.
Teen Takeover activities were created based on youth input and existing evidence-supported strategies to help youth express themselves and aid them in their efforts to connect with peers.
