Communities for Youth Launching New Teen Action Team

At Communities for Youth, we believe that the voices of young people are essential to building stronger, healthier communities. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce the launch of the new Communities for Youth Teen Action Team, a new teen-focused initiative designed to empower teens around improving youth mental health and well-being in Idaho.

The Teen Action Team offers a variety of ways for teens to make an impact. Whether it’s attending monthly gatherings, serving as a youth representative at a community meeting, providing feedback and ideas around youth events and spaces, or educating peers and community leaders, this initiative is all about ensuring teens have a seat at the table.

The kick-off meeting for the Teen Action Team will be October 24th, 2024 from 4-6pm in the Celebration Pavillion at Julia Davis Park. This kick-off meeting is open to teens in grades 9-12 and will feature pizza, yard games, and a scavenger hunt, as well as information on how to stay involved with the Teen Action Team. The event is free and open to all teens grades 9-12.

Not able to attend on 10/24 or just want to get more info on teen events and opportunities?

Parents and teens wanting more information on the Teen Action Team and how it is set up can review our Parent Info Page or email communities4youth@gmail.com.

This initiative is more than just a program—it’s a way for teens to shape the future of mental health support in Idaho and be part of something bigger. Young people have unique perspectives on the challenges they face, and that’s why we’re grounding our work in their experiences. Together, we can ensure young people feel heard, supported, and empowered to thrive.
